- The lads have been busy working on new material and improving / re-arranging the old stuff. This is a constant process for the band and hopefully is apparent to new and old fans alike.

A gig at the Belle Vue, Mapperley Top, proved to be a little challenging for several reasons. A few technical hitches's, soon overcome, provided early minor glitches. A hung-over bass player (due to the night before "stag night" antics). Gary from the Little Giants should take the blame, forcing him to drink copious amounts of beer, Jack and anything else he could find in his drinks cabinet) swinging in and out of consciousness but never out of time. It was a quiet night, but the folks that where then, despite the hiccups, where treated to songs old and new.

Soon after the Belle Vue the Bold Forester, Mansfield beckoned. A return to form as all members where fighting fit and although this venue hosts live music on a Sunday night, it's always busy. Thanks to all who attended for a great reception and special thanks to the guest dancer who spent most of his time on his backside, always a great gig.

Then onto the Volo in Carlton, one of the lads favourite gigs. Always a good crowd and a good atmosphere only made better this time by England beating the French in the 6 Nations rugby. Again an opportunity to test some of the new songs and enhancements and the set included a heavy metal version of "Happy Birthday" for Malc a very young 50. He and his posse had a great night and treated us to some great dancing. Thanks !

More recently a gig at the Lakeside Leisure club in Pleasley provided another warm reception with great comments (And more dancing) from a very welcoming crowd. It also provided a great warm up for the following heat in the battle of the bands competition at the Diamond in Sutton where the lads, despite turning up at 6 o'clock and not playing until 11 o'clock managed to get through and qualify for the semi-finals. Please check out the gigs section of the website and try and get to this (Plus any other gigs you fancy) and give them your support.

The studio is now booked for a "long" weekend in April with a couple of days reserved for additions and mixing. More news on this soon but in the meantime keep checking the gig listing as dates are always being added. It would be great to see you at a gig soon.

The guestbook is starting to grow but we would encourage everyone to post any comments they have as feedback is the only real way the lads can tell if they are giving you what you want.

A biography will soon be part of the website. Should prove interesting reading and will not only feature Sean, Pete and Chris's colourful pasts but will feature entries from some of the "Road Crew".

Anyway, keep checking the website and hopefully see you at a gig soon - TTFN.

- 2007 was a strange year for the Ruf and Reddy band. A Bass player change meant a few rusty early performances, but it didn't take long to get back up to "full force" In all the band played a total of 47 gigs in 2007 and already 2008 is shaping up to be a busier year with almost 30 already on the books.

After almost an 8 week break (Due to Chris's winter tour of Oz) the lads broke the fast with a return to form gig on the 24th January at the Talbot in Mansfield. Despite a few technical problems and a couple of sore fingers (due to lack of practice) they managed to once more woo the crowd into submission. Eventually Martin the landlord had to bribe them into silence (at 11:15) with the promise of free beers - Thanks Martin. R2D2, the newest member of the band, made his debut. If you where there and hadn't noticed him, he's a state of the art, digital recorder who's primary function is to capture all of the magical musical moments. Keep checking the multimedia section of the website to see how he performs.

Hot on the heels of the success of the Talbot, on the 25th January they did a 40 minute spot at the Diamond in Sutton supporting the mighty Twin Lizzy. Awesome guitar, dynamic drumming and punishing bass came through the house PA at breakneck speed leaving the 200+ strong crowd reeling and fully warmed for a great night of Lizzy memorabilia. Feedback regarding the Ruf and Reddy band was fantastic and on the strength of this success they will be back there soon to play as headliners. Keep your eyes on the website.

New style T shirts are now available at gigs and from mail order via the website. A bargain at £10 each and a must for all you RufHeads out there. The new T shirts now feature a "hilarious" slogan on the back so if you already own an old style one, get you grubby mitts on a new one whilst stocks last as they are going like "hot cakes" (Shame they're not going like T shirts)

The band have booked 3 days of studio time in the not too distant future in order to record a CD. This will be used to assist in the promotion of the band and to enable the fans to "take a bit of Ruf home". Again watch the website for now on this as it occurs.

And finally for now the band have been approached by Radio Caroline. The station has asked them to do a 30 minute interview during which time they will be talking about all aspects of their music and playing tracks from the new CD. Watch this space for further news.
