On this page you can check out the various gear that the band members use... like most musicians we periodically change things around so to list the exact gear that we are all using at the present time would be nigh on impossible... however if anyone wants more detailed information about any of the gear in use they can contact us ...

'no 2' Fender Stratocaster - fitted with Texas Special pickups, rosewood fretboard, blue, large frets, tuned to Eb
'blonde mongrel' Stratocaster - fitted with Seymour Duncan 'duckbuckers' in the bridge and mid positions with a JB special in the neck position, Rosewood fretboard, tuned to an open F# tuning for slide
  Gibson Les Paul - fitted with a Burstbucker & Classic 57 pickups, Trans Amber, vintage, medium frets, tuned to Eb

I have a core set of 2/3 pedals with occasional "guest" pedals. I am very picky about the quality etc as these provide me with the basis of the core sound that I like. If anyone is interested in what I use, drop me a line.

Kit 1

Yamaha maple custom absolute in a white marine peal finish.

The sizes are as follows:- 22" x 18" bass drum
14" x 6.5" brass snare drum. {spare snares are 14"x6.5" Ian Paice signature by Pearl, and a Birch Yamaha 14"x5.5" maple custom}.
Mounted double head toms are, 8x8, 10x8 12x10
Floor toms are 14x12 and 16x16
I use an Aqarian heavy duty snare head, and on the toms are either Remo pin stripes or Ambassador clears.
The bass head is a powerstroke 2
Bass drum pedal is a Double Pearl Eliminator.
Hardware is a mixture of Yamaha,Pearl,Tama and Premier.

Kit 2
My other kit which is considerably louder and more rock orientated is a Ludwig mirror chrome finish kit which i bought new in 1982 and has gigged and recorded everywhere with everyone.

The sizes are as follows;
Bass drums x 2 , 24" x 20"
Concert toms { single heads, pinstripe Remo }, 6"x8", 8"x8", 10"x10",
12"x12", 13"x13" and 14"x14".
Floor toms; 16"x16" and 18"x18"
Snare drum is a Rogers Maple 14"x8"
I use 2 x Premier 252 strap driven base pedals for the two bass drums on
this kit.
Hardware is a mix of Ludwig, Premier and Tama.

14" Paiste signiture hi hats or 15" Zildjian quick beat hi hats
Ride cymbals are 24" Zildjian Z heavy power ride, 20" Zildjian rock ride, 20" Zildjian ping ride and 18" Zildjian flat top ride.


Crash cymbals are, 16" Paiste 2002, 16" Zildjian A custom, 16" Zildjian Z heavy power crash, 17" Zildjian A custom, 18" Zildjian brilliant, 18" Zildjian rock crash and 20" Zildjian crash.
